About Bramley Nursery School

Welcome to Bramley Nursery School - Johannesburg's Trusted Preschool Since 1952

Founded in 1952, Bramley Nursery School holds the distinction of being one of the oldest and most respected nursery schools in Johannesburg. Located in the heart of the city's northern suburbs, we have proudly provided a nurturing educational environment for generations of young learners.

At Bramley Nursery School, we continue to uphold the highest standards of preschool education and early childhood development. Our legacy as a 'feeder' school for many institutions in the area speaks to our commitment to excellence.

Our modern facilities, some of which have been in use since 1958, have seen thousands of young learners pass through our doors, benefitting from our unique blend of traditional and contemporary teaching methods.

Our educational approach is rooted in aligning with the Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement (CAPS) where appropriate, ensuring that our students receive a well-rounded and comprehensive education. Our mission is to inspire and nurture each child's individual potential.

We embrace the rich diversity of our student body, welcoming children from various ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Under the experienced leadership of Principal Maryanne Youngs, our staff and teachers offer a caring and compassionate environment where your child's well-being and education are top priorities.

Bramley Nursery School welcomes children from the age of two-and-a-half years, provided they are fully toilet trained. Our tailored programs are designed for specific age groups, ensuring a personalised approach with smaller class sizes for more individualized attention.

You have the flexibility to choose between a full-day or half-day program. Our half-day program runs from 07:30 to 13:30, and includes a nutritious mid-morning snack with sandwiches, fruit, and juice.

Our full-day program extends to a cooked lunch and an afternoon snack after nap time. Parents can send yogurt or fruit for the afternoon snack. Full-day children receive supervised care until 17:00.

At Bramley Nursery School, education is not confined to the classroom. We offer a diverse range of activities to enrich your child's experience, including puppet shows and educational performances. Additionally, we provide opportunities for extra-curricular activities such as Playfit, Music by Tiny Tunes and Soccer.

For more information about these activities and any new offerings, please contact our school directly.

Join the Bramley Nursery School family and experience a nurturing and enriching environment where your child's education and well-being come first.
